they aren't supposed to be underwear models. Is everything turning into this crap? I used to love the pagent, but I didn't watch it this year, because of those photos. It's disgusting

Although I wouldn't do this, I think these women should have the freedom to choose for themselves. They are not nude. I bet a big percent of the people that have a problem with the pictures wear a lot less than this to the beach.

I'm a little torn-it is their choice and most probably would like to go on to model. But the pagent has always had such a wholesome image and I kind of think it should be kept that way. It was just last year that someone was disqualified for risque pictures. And granted her pictures showed pieces and parts that are covered by bras. I still think the girls should remain pure and honorable.

While I believe the girls should have a choice, I wonder what would have happened, had they chose NOT to particpate?

How come contestants' clothing is getting smaller these days? Who made those decisions-- subscribers to Playboy/Maxim? They aren't on the beach for goodness sake so stop comparing. The beachwear-defense came up regarding those 9 yr-old 'Single Ladies' dancers too. They WEREN'T at the beach.

Why is it that it's not socially exceptable to wear your bra and underwear out in public, but it's ok for women to wear bakinis???

Overall the photos are acceptable and tastefully done, but I think it changed the way we look at Miss USA. Over the past few years, I think it has forced us to not take it as seriously, it is truly just a beauty pageant now. The photos themselves were a choice they made.
