What do you think of the "grown-up" photo spread featuring Miss USA contestants?

Sexy photos are ubiquitous in the American media, but the Miss USA pageant is enjoyed by people of all ages. The racy photos of the contestants caused to-be-expected outcries, but does it surprise you?

to briana who said .... BriannaCH says: 1 hour ago Why is it that it's not socially exceptable to wear your bra and underwear out in public, but it's ok for women to wear bakinis??? lol thats y they call it UNDERwear! :) heheh and at one point bikinis werent ok either! im not saying they arent now b/c obviously they are and i agree they cover the same space as underwear, but i think its like being invited to a wedding or fancy event. You could wear a shirt and jeans it would cover you the same but wouldnt you look better in a dress/skirt or something nicer made for the occasion? Same for bikinis im guessing, not to mention can you imagine how flimsy real underwear and bras would be as bathing suits in the ocean? LOL wardrobe malfunction!

lsabrinap, these photos that are being referred to are not photos taken in various contestants' past. They're photos taken BY the organization sponsoring the pageant. I call the photos totally inappropriate. If it's a photo that a fatehr would feel inappropriate to hang up in his office it has crossed the line. Sexy poses should not be required to compete for Miss USA.

I have always viewed it as a beatuy pagent. The girls are beatutiful and in great shape. I think they should be proud of that and show it off.

I think that the pictures are completly innaproporate. I grew up watching the pagent and wanting to be a "miss America" someday. Watching this last pagent I was so struck by what we are teaching our children and the body image issues that are instilling in them. Being a 20 year old woman now I can understand why I have body image problems because most women dont naturally look like that. Why cant we have beautiful women that potray healthy normal sized women in the pagent?

Miss USA has moved away from the pagent into the business of being beautiful. Everything is all about making a buck these days.

I have to say that they are inappropriate! It's a beauty pageant and this is something that little girls could watch and look up to. As the mother of a toddler...not a chance she'll ever see this pageant!!!
