Do you do your taxes yourself, or do you get them done by an accountant?

Tax Day is right around the corner on April 15th.  We’re curious if you do your own taxes, or you go to an accountant to get them done.  Have you already submitted them, or will you be waiting until the last minute?  Do you do them online or the old fashioned way?

Let us know!  We want to hear your take on taxes.

Yes, I will do them myself. Go me! (53.1%)

No, I use an accountant. Too confusing! (46.9%)

Do you do your taxes yourself, or do you get them done by an accountant?

Our taxes are very simple and easy to do ourselves. One year we did pay to have someone do our taxes and we actually ended up worse off. If your taxes are involved then use an expert; otherwise, do it yourself and save a few bucks.

I am self employed and we would have no idea what I can claim, I have an accountant, he also is a famly friend so that helps with the cost! He is able to get us the max that we can get and I am able to claim things I never knew I could!!

Up until this year, I was a pencil/paper person. Tried Turbo Tax for the first time (free) and won't look back!

I do my own taxes because I figure nobody knows me and my financial status better than me. I do my research on current tax law and how it applies to me and I go for it. The program I use is excellent at letting you know if you made a potential error or missed a potential deduction.
