Such an interesting article. I never thought about it before. But aside from work-related calls, I really don't use my phone that often. I only have a mobile phone (no land line) and have lowered my minutes dramatically b/c most of my correspondence is on text, email, Facebook...digital basically. It's crazy to think about.

Sorry...I still like the voice contact...I don't text much. I say what I have to say and then I'm done. It seems like texting goes on forever!

I make more calls then I do text because I think that text although nice you have to wait for a response and talking is just so much faster

I really dislike talking on the phone (always have) so texting, Facebook and e-mail are life-savers for me. When I was in high school I had our landline attached to my ear because that was what all my friends called me on and my cell phone was for emergencies and to get ahold of my Mom, haha. Weird how time changes things.

I have kids they are growing up and they are more involved with the community so I need to keep in touch with more people! It's crazy how addicted we have become with technology! I can't live without my cell phone!

Many more calls and text messages than 5 years ago when calls where only 'as needed'. Years ago I never even left my phone on all day, now it is on 24/7 and I check for missed calls and messages religously throughout the day. I have not gotten to the point where I let the calls intefere with my daily life such as answering while at the gym or in the toilet - yes, I have witnessed people taking calls in the toilet.

About the same number of calls for me. I don't work outside of the home and I do help screen calls for my husband who is a Pastor. Many calls come to the house for him. But they have stayed pretty much consistent over the years. Most of my closest friends don't call me that much because of the large number of calls we get on a daily basis. They don't want to add to the time I am on the phone. So we tend to communicate in person as much as possible. I think it has kept our friendship stronger because of it. Neither my husband or I have a cell phone and have no plans on getting one. Amazing how well we do without them! Life goes on and people can still get us when they need us, just like the "old days"!!

I have gotten used to texting a lot more than making phone calls. If it's something really important or it's too long to text then I will make that call. I love my phone and texting.

I use my email a lot. My cell phone is a pay as you go plan and every minute counts so when I do use it, I usually text because it's cheaper.
