I was very excited to be chosen by She Speaks to try out and review this product. Unfortunately, it did not live up to expectations. I love getting highlights and looked forward to giving my hair a nice ""spring time"" touch up. I found this to be very difficult to use on my hair by myself. To start, 1 glove ripped right at the seam on the thumb, before I had my 2nd brush stroke through my hair. The product did not go on evenly. It was extremely difficult to try to get the back of my head. The brush is awkward. People don't normally take use their brush vertically when they brush. L'Oreal should have known this, and adjusted the brush before putting this on the market. The smell is AWFUL. My hair was getting clumpy and dry before I could finish getting highlights through out, which made it extremely difficult to comb through. I ended up having to stop and brush my hair several times during the process. I have never seen so much hair fall out of my head while dying/highlighting/washing my hair before. I was seriously scared for a few minutes. I was overall not very impressed by the results. I did upload pictures. My hair looks more like it was dyed, than highlighted. I do have somewhat, long hair. I think that this might be better suited for someone

This was not the first time that I used a home hightlight kit so I thought it would be fine to try. The product seemed too thick for the bottle and was hard to dispense onto the brush. Placing the product on the brush was messy and caused clumps in my hair has it did not apply smoothly on my hair. It states to make sure the ends get a fair amount of product, however, the product seems to comes off the brush as soon as it touches hair, so there is no more product left by the time you get to the ends. The result was terrible, and I had to go to a hair dresser to fix it the next day. I would not recommend.

I was very disappointed. The comb that you were supposed to use to apply the highlights was bulky and the teeth on it were so long that the mixture does not reach the hair. I had to try and 'finger' it through my hair. At times the solution seemed to have chunks in it, as it was hard to squeeze out. It seemed to lighten my hair well though

This product was very easy to use, but.... My hair is dark brown and half my head has different color highlights. I will never to at home highlighting again!

Oh my goodness! I am still trying to fix the Orange in my hair! Usually I am very please with Loreal Products but this one NO THANKS! My hair was left dry and had to run to a salon to see if they could do something about it. I wish I had not tried it.. Uneven and everything after following the directions step by step.. Not for me ..

Sorry, I am not a fan and will be purchasing another hair color to correct what this product has done to my hair! I have dark blond hair. In the past I have highlighted it using paint on kits and the kind with the cap. I have also had it professionally done. I haven't had highlights for a couple years and six months ago colored my hair a slightly darker shade. I am just mentioning this because I have previously had good experiences with hair color both at home and a salon. Sadly, this was the worst I experienced so far... I carefully followed the directions and only left the dye on my hair for 15 minutes rather than the 25-30 minutes in the instructions. I found the bleach really bleached my hair much more than I expected and not always a pleasing color. Some of my hair is orange and some platinum. Since it was the kit for dark blond/light brown hair I expected more subtle highlights. But I think it was pure bleach rather than a pigmented hair color. The comb included in the kit has got to be the most awkward method I have used for highlights. You have to get it perfectly straight and I found it difficult to distribute the dye evenly. I think the learning curve is too steep especially with such a powerful bleach (I left it on half the suggested time and still was bleached too much). On the plus side, the color would be pretty if professionally applied and it is shiny. I have had success home coloring and home highlighting in the past, but not this time. I am embarrassed to leave the house. I just dried my hair and saw the results and am kind of upset. This is the first negative review I have written in a long time. It might be good if you want very light highlights, but I think there are other options that are easier to apply and more forgiving.

So I did this 'project' all by myself. That was a big mistake. Maybe I'm just old fashion, but I find using a brush very difficult to use. This probably would have gone better had there been someone else to do it for me. I do perfere just a bottle of color/ one that gives high lights. I not for all the extra 'stuff' to do. It has to be easy, or it's just not going to fly. My hair feels very very dry. I've given myself a hot oil treatment, and plan to re-color my hair in a week or so. This will be hard on my hair, but fortunately my hair is not supper long, and will go ahead and do it anyways, with a good conditioner. Honestly cannot recommend this product. It's hard to use, and usless you have eyes in the back of your head, you are going to make noticeable mistakes.

I like the idea of this product, but it did not work well for me. To begin with, it isn't something I could apply myself. To reach the back of my hair I had to have a friend help out. The product didn't apply evenly with only one stroke of the applicator brush, so we had to go back and directly squeeze some out of the tube. My end result isn't terrible, but you can only see the highlights on the top of my head. If I throw my hair into a pony tail I look like a skunk. Next time I want highlights I will rely on an expert at a salon.

Did it myself, followed directions. Applicator got clogged right away. Tried to make it work by cleaning it with tiny straw brush...no luck. I think product is too thick for this type of bottle-applicator. Made mess everywhere. Also brush did not apply product evenly onto my hair and now I have highlighted patch on my hair. I would give five stars to after color shampoo.

I was very excited to try the new L'Oreal Glad highlights kit since I have colored my own hair at home for years. The directions were easy to follow and the process was simple enough. However, I think it would have been easier if someone did it for me. It was too difficult to get the back of my hair to make sure the tool was used correctly. The color turned out okay but I am not completely happy with it. I have used highlight kits in the past that have worked better with better color. This kit seemed to make my hair almost orange tinted and that really didn't make me too happy. Maybe it was the color of the kit combined with the hair dye I use on my entire head but I may have to wait before using this product again.

I received a free sample of this to try. Somewhat easy to apply. Low cost alternative to salon highlights. Would use again.

I was excited and a little nervous to try self-highlighting. I used to do it, back in college, when (let's be honest) if I messed up it wasn't really a big deal! But now, as a busy mom of two, I really don't want to look silly if I mess up my hair. Luckily, that wasn't the case! I like the end result. My hair had been looking dull and flat, and I was tired of the warmer color I had used for winter. After using Glam Lights, my hair "pops" and looks vibrant again. However... I don't really think it looks highlighted, just like I gave it a color update. That's okay with me, but I don't think I would choose this product over my usual Nice & Easy Foam, which imparts highlights along with the all-over color... and is a bit less nerve-wracking to use. A few misses with Glam Lights: *The powder didn't mix well, no matter what I did. I ended up dumping a bit of it off the top of the mixing bottle before I colored. *I think the instructions should have stated that the brush should be REALLY full of product before running it through the hair. *The middle section of the brush is awkward to "fill" -- the outer two are fine, but the middle one has the spikes running down the middle, and it's tough to feel like it's adequately filled. *Lastly, and perhaps the biggest negative... the instructions say to start the brush at 1/4 inch from your roots -- unfortunately, that means my roots didn't get any color and, consequently, look like they're already growing out. It really needs to be applied AT the roots to accomplish a well done color job.

Okay, so I can't say that I hate this hair color. I mean, it's a highlighting kit with a new applicator. Not exactly rocket science. Minus the fact that the product didn't mix very well despite shaking it for what felt like 10 minutes. As I started applying the product, powdery clumps came out, and then the actual applicator became plugged. I had to leave the product on for about an hour to get the color results I was looking for, and even then they were uneven. With that said, it wasn't the worst thing I've ever done to my hair (Hi, 1992 perm while in the second grade).

The brush with the product was a little difficult to get through my hair evenly, but I think overall the end result turned out pretty well.

I received a free sample of this product to try. The product states that it's easy to use and gives professional results. I attempted to follow the directions stated on the box, but keeping the application comb vertical while applying to all sections of my hair and applying even pressure was not possible as I went around my entire head. The comb did not cooperate with the process, either, as my hair is a bit wavy and thick and would get stuck in some places, requiring me to pull down some. Application was not even in all places. I carried on with the process anyway. I did get some stripes throughout my hair. Once finished, my hair did have highlights in it, but perhaps more than I wanted. After a couple days, it seemed to look less bright and more even, though. I am more satisfied now than I was after the initial process. For that reason, I am giving it 3 stars.
