Which issue is weighing most heavily on your mind right now?

There seems to be a never ending list of things to worry about. With gasoline prices hitting an alltime high of $4 per gallon in many states, finances seem to be a big issue for many.

We wondered, what is the most pressing issue on your mind as we head into the summer?

My husband and I don't drive much but when we do fill up our gas tanks is $140 for him and $50 for me. that's 190 dollars less that we have a month for groceries and food is going up just as much as gas prices. Coupons don't always work because we still pay more than the store brands. Lately we buy store brand items only. Clothing we purchase at thrift stores I was surprised to see that some items are new with tags still attached. Name brand worn in jeans we purchased for $5-10 they go for $30-50 at dept. stores. We all can deal with this messed up economy if we all tighten our belts.

Since the gas has gotten pricey my family and I have had to cancel a vacation to Hawaii. The average gas price is $4.52 where I live. I mean can things get any worser? Now I can't even take long road trips anymore without spending an arm and a leg! I would not be surprized if gas reached $5.00 by mid July!

Even with both parents working, it is very difficult to make ends meet. We have cut way back on expenditures and are now only paying our regular monthly bills, plus food and gas.

We are barely making it week to week. We are using coupons and going to thrift stores to buy what we need.

My husband is a trucker and he can hardly make a living. By the time the gas is paid for he hardly has a paycheck left.

He is currently looking elsewhere for work.

We are a one income family. My daughter is out on her own and it is just my husband, adult son and myself. I am and at home mom due to caring for my disabled son. With the price of everything going up i just don't know how we are supposed to survive. We are trying to keep things a float while at the same time helping our daughter out from time to time. She is working full time, has a good job but her rent is crazy, but that is what it is for the most part. There will soon be the poor and the rich no in between. I just dont know what else we can cut form our budget.

I work part time and my insurance took almost 1/2 my paycheck the last time I got paid. And we are healthy people! I can only imagine how you do it when someone you love is ill. The system is so broken, and I actually work in healthcare. I would probably be better off if i quit my job and went on public assistance, but my parents didn't raise me that way. It really irritates me to see some that take advantage of it. Good luck to all of us right now. With gas and food skyrocketing, it's just getting worse.

I too am a stay at home mom, I have 4 girls ages 9,7,5,5. it is so hard to make ends meet. with the rising cost of everything i was thinking of getting a job, but by the time you figure in GAS, daycare, time away from my girls and other expenses that would arise from driving over 45 miles one way to work each day it just isn't worth it. at least not for minimum wage, which is what the job paid. Husband is self employed Carpenter but work is getting slack a bit due to rising cost, people are putting off doing remodeling till they can "afford" it. he is actually thinking of going to a factory to work. which will mean less money each week.

Due to the economy I buy less food. I am a vegetarian and try to eat healthy but the less expensive food is unhealthy junk. I skip meals sometimes to ensure my child doesn't have to. I drive less dut to the cost of gas and due less recreational activities.

With the economy doing so badly, I can not afford to take my children on any summer vacations.
