Have you ever purchased a beauty product "as seen on TV?"

Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.

We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!

I have never purchased anything from an infomurcial but I would if something caught my eye. Generally most things land in a CVS near you if they are worth wild!!

I purchased a Bare Escentuals starter kit from a TV infomercial. I did not need everything in the kit, but loved the make-up and still use it. I now have a store in my local mall and can purchase only the items I need.

The Smooth Away was given to me as a gift. It does an okay job for not having to shave your legs, but it does leave quite a few strays.

I also purchased teh shark steam mop and the handle broke after approx one month. You do have to change the pad often so you have to purchase extras. It also doesn't do that great of a job cleaning.

I purchase cosmetics, such as Bare Escentuals Bare Minerals and Lauren Hutton's makeup from the tv ads & have been very satisfied. I have also purchased skin care products & been unhappy with the results, so I easily returned them & I received 100% money back.

I purchased Luminese Air brush makeup kit. It is the most amazing makeup product and method of application I have ever found. It is expensive (around $200) but when I consider the money I end up throwing away on liquid, powder and other drug store cosmetics, it's a winner. Being over 45, I began using foundation only within the last 5 years. Most makeup settled into fine lines and just looked awful. The air brush makeup simply evens skin tone and eliminates shine. I feel beautiful again with this makeup.

I purchased The Shark sweeper I was so excited to get it because it was something I've wanted for a very long time (even put it on my wedding registry : ) I am pretty satisfied with it, I love that it is cordless, but I find it only sweeps dirt going in the forward motion, and if you have long hair you'll find it gets wrapped around the inside roller. Other than that ; ) I am looking for a good mop and thinking about the shark steamer. Also a product I have tried is P90X, the fitness regiment. It is a committment and if you stick to the nutrional guide as well as the workouts, you will see results. Be warned, it is tough, don't be discouraged. I'm a sucker for watching qvc hair products-never bought anything but they make the straightners/shampoos look like 1 in a million!
