Well, being I am one of those people who feel naked without their makeup - I will still be buying makeup, but I have been experimenting with a few lower cost stores and brands. Some of which are actually very good and I was amazed. There are those though that after you use it once, you find out why it is so cheap, it does not perform well at all. When this happens, I simply take the item back for an exchange, which most stores do allow. I have found that some of the eye shadows at Dollar Tree (everything is a $1) work well and stay on well all day long! Great bargain for me and I love it!

Cutting back for sure. Movies tickets are way to expensive. Making a movie night at home with an old VHS tape can be just as much fun!

Since we cannot afford to have a real vacation or go far, my husband and I use going out to dinner or ordering in as a special treat. The beach for 1 weekend in March before rates are high--not a prob since he cannot walk the boardwalk anyway, and going out to eat for breakfast or lunch is cheaper than dinner.

The dollar store has many makeup items in brand names, so the dollar stores have become my friend so i don't have to do w/o makeup, hair dye (heaven forbid I have a gray hair!).

I cut back on alot of things years ago. lol. The only thing that has really changed is our eating habits. Cut back on beef, eat more chicken.

A movie now and then we enjoy. We have a great movie theatre here where the tickets are $1.25. You have to wait until the movie moves from the main cinemas, but it great, clean and we save money on refreshments by stopping at the local dollar store before we go.

I love buying snacks and treats for my kids! But it seems that the way the economy is right now, it is going to be hard to keep up the normal purchases for them. We can't even go out really anymore and do family things, gas is so sky high and starting to climb again!

My kid is 18 so he buys most everything he needs or wants. But I still have to buy him something when I go to wal-mart even if it is just a pack of gum. and I have to go to the movies. it is and always has been my most fav. thing to do that is I could afford. I have cut back on going out to eat. now we only go out 1st a wk. or less . and before it was whenever we wanted to.

I haven't cut much out of my budget. I still purchase things I normally would, just less often or with coupons. It is amazing how much money we can save when we live within a budget and try to shop with coupons or during sales!
