Which issue is weighing most heavily on your mind right now?

There seems to be a never ending list of things to worry about. With gasoline prices hitting an alltime high of $4 per gallon in many states, finances seem to be a big issue for many.

We wondered, what is the most pressing issue on your mind as we head into the summer?

We are working harder for less. Though I have no children I am concerned for the welfare of my nieces and nephews. When they are my age what kind of world will they live in? If we can't do something to secure our future something needs to be done to secure theirs.

I'm not so much worried about myself--I have a good job, and with no children or dependents, I could support myself on less money than I currently do--but I'm worried about the backlash a recession would have on general welfare. Public services are often the first to get cut, and the people who rely on these services are usually the first ones to feel the pinch of a tightened economy. (Free lunch programs, public schools, medicaid, food stamps...) I'm worried about what happens when more and more people need these services, and then they get cut.

The really sad thing about this is we are all saying the same thing (gas, food, everything prices are high) and it seems that it will NEVER end. The bright side we do get to bond more with our families(YIKES).Have a safe and happy summer to all!

My husband & I cut back to one car, but since I'm a pet sitter, that meant I had to cut back on the area I could reach. Now I ride my bike everywhere (sometimes as far as 5 miles one way)--saves on gas AND a gym membership! I'm also looking for a part time job since I don't want to give up the business I worked so hard to build but is now suffering because of the economy.

My husband starting taking the bus and now we're saving almost $60.00 a month in gas. We also don't buy things that we don't have a coupon for and are on sale. Our food budget is now $150 a month for two kids and two adults and we don't usually spend it all. We're doing good since the economy got bad...it's teaching us to live better, spending less and still being able to stockpile for times when we don't have the money for things. It's all in how you buy things. You can buy brand name items and still save money if you do it right!

I am about to just give up everything is higher and more expensive and it never seems that I can just have a happy day without something going wrong. I just wish I could just lay down and die and get it over with atleast I would not have to worry about anything anymore

We will be staying at home all summer with the gas prices. I am enjoying more time with my little girl instead of going places and spending $ on things I did not need in the first place!

My husband is the main bread winner in our family as I am on disability. We barely scrape by from week to week. We get the bills pais and are lucky if we have grocery money and gas money (which is really killing us). The economy is terrible right now and no one thinks it will get better anytime now. We are all in an unfair and unreasonable position with all the price gouging going on.
