How much money are you spending compared to 1-2 months ago?

The economy seems to be showing glimmers of recovery.  On the other hand, many of us are out of work or know others who are.  So, we were curious, how are you feeling about spending your money over the last 1-2 months?

Please tell us what you think.  We want to know!

    I have again need to curb my spending and return to my frugal ways of earlier in the year. I found myself choosing to send caution to the wind and spend more than I anticipated over the holidays. It made for a merry holiday for those around me but a sad budget for myself in retrospect. I'll be climbing out of that for awhile.

    I have been spending the same. I have always been a frugal person. I think because I am we have a lot of little extras and are able to take vacations, etc...

    We buckled down a little bit and think twice about purchases. DH's company is hireing more workers again, so thats encouraging! Not much mail coming through on my mail route, put that's part time and considered our "fun money".

    I spend about the same amount as I did before. I am trying to put myself on a budget because I do have a tend to spend impulsively on occassion.

    less on want and more on needs. Spending more on quality products.

    I've got a granddaughter that I've raised. She's in her first year of college.The child support was never paid right, so now I'm getting back pay. It stops when the child turns18. He will be paid up in a couple months and she hasn't paid in along time. I'm on social security, so I didn't get a cost of living raise this year. I just try to watch everything I spend. I use coupons and get samples.Gas is going up every day. Tonight on the news, they were talking about how high vegetables are going up because of the cold. I don't know what we are supposed to do.

    well im trying to spend less . but since everything from food to clothes keep going up i cant...

    I am spending less and getting more. It is amazing what coupons will do for you when you use them on products that are already on sale.

    I'm definitely spending less on everything, but especially clothes and food. In fact for the month of January I decided I was not going to the grocery store at all. I'm going to see how long I can go by eating everything already at my house. I had another friend that did it, and she said things got very creative!
