I enjoy playing the Wii with my family because there games are more interactive than the other game units. It's just another way to spend family time without spending too much money and we can also surf the web together. Overall, the Wii is the best value for my family.

We play the wii because it's really hard just to sit on the couch and play. You have to stand up and move around, jump, dance, not a lot of sitting for sure!! It's fun on a rainy day or after it's to dark to play outside. It's also nice for those hot Texas summer days when it's over 100 degrees and playing in the water is the only option.

I see to many parents us the video games as a babysitter. I think they need to be much more limited and need to be a part of family night. Not for kids to be kept busy. Parents spend more time with your kids reading, cooking and doing other things.

When the weather isn't condusive to going outside, we enjoy playing different games on the Wii. We love Wii Sports...it gets you moving and off of the couch! My hubby likes checking out videos on youtube.com whenever the kids are asleep! My oldest loves the Wii, because she can send messages to her friends...and it is easy to use. We like the parental controls, so we know that the kids are safe when playing online.

I have found video games to be a waste of time, so I try to avoid them. My children are too young but I do not plan to have video/computer games in the house; or, I will wait until they are MUCH older before introducing selective time/game choices. Sure, games are fun, and keep kids busy, but the bad outweighs the good. Studies show a connection between video games and decreased ability to concentrate. I realize my opinion is not common or popular, and I am NOT criticizing any who enjoy video games; as I mentioned, I have played often in the past... but I have decided after serious reflection and study that the video game lifestyle is not for me and my family.
