New retail data was just released and it seems that consumers are spending less than expected. On the other hand, the information on the health of the overall economy has been encouraging in the last couple of weeks. So, we were curious, how are you feeling about spending your money over the last 1-2 months?
Please tell us what you think. We want to know!

Trying to stay on top of things in case the economy effects us even more. Lucky that my husband has been able to keep his job.
Like so many others I am sticking to basics and only buying the necessities right now.
My pennies are squealing I'm pinching them so hard. Only buying things I can't live without.
My husbands hours were cut back to 32 a few months ago and add to that the fact that I have the feeling that my company may start furloughs. They have all ready given us one the day before Memorial Day and have left the impression that we will get one for 4th July. I really do not mind since we can use vacation days if we want to get paid and I enjoy the extra time off to be with family. Thankfully we started saving a year ago so do not feel the pinch too bad. But usually we spend more and now we have cut back. The hardest part is trying to explain to the kids why they cannot get the things they used to. My daughter, 4, is taking it in stride but my son, 8, is not.
times are getting tough! We are spending only what we have to for the things we need.
I am Disabled and living on a fixed incone so i have to spend less on everything
I also only buy what I need...however will splurge on books, clothes, jewelry...especially it it's on clearance or bargain price!
