I know that I should be concerned but I don't really pay attention.

I never really shown much of a concern for my calcium intake, but lately I've been reading that calcium & Vitamin D intake in America is not as high as it should be. Daily consumption also has been known to lower the risk of all cancers by %77, protects against heart disease, and lessens depression according to the August issue of Time magazine.

I had gastric bypass surgery a couple of years ago, so I don't absorb calcium well. I try to eat foods that are high in calcium, plus take daily supplements. I still wonder if it is enough.

I had a hysterectomy almost 10 years ago and due to that I don't absorb calcium as well as I could be so I try to get extra calcium where ever I can.

Very worried as I have always barely used dairy products. Aging now and my back always feels bent and weak. And I am only 52.

I have never liked milk and now at my age, I need to remember to take some form of calcium.

But then now they are also coming out with studies saying too much calcium can be bad for your arteries! Who know what to do anymore!

I'm on Prednisone for Polymyalga and one of the side effects to Prednisone is thinning the bones.

I went through menopause early, so I have been very concerned about keeping my bones healthy. I take a calcium supplement daily, I avoid drinking soda as much as possible, I have yogurt daily, and eat good green veggies such as broccoli . This week, I had a bone density scan, and my results showed that my bones are denser and thicker than they were 2 years ago!
