Have you ever purchased a beauty product "as seen on TV?"

Recently we’ve noticed a lot of product reviews on SheSpeaks inspired by beauty products advertised on television. Some of these "as seen on TV" products include "Strap Perfect," the bra strap eliminator, "Bumpits," the hair accessory that gives volume to the crown of the head, and "Smooth Away," the all-over hair remover.

We are curious to know what you think of products advertised on TV in the form of an infomercial. Are they too hard of a sell? Or, do the product demonstrations persuade you to buy? We’d love to hear about the items you’ve bought and if you’ve been satisfied with your purchase!

    I would say on average, I'm happy with a good 70% of the items that I purchase, though I only use them once or twice...lol...and will probably continue purchasing!!!!

    I bought Youthful Essence, was really disappointed... This thing did less than a pharmacy-bought scrub! Sent it back, and can't get my money back for already almost two months.... 60-days guarantee! Total rip-off.

    Hi I have purchased several as seen on tv products. Some have been great, like the ped-egg, but the absolute worst was bare minerals. That looked like layer of dust sitting on my face. I saw it a product show being demonstrated on other women who seemed to love it and they all looked like they had just had an appointment with the undertakers assitant they were so "powdery". I don't get the appeal.

    Yes, unfortunately, I purchased Smooth Away---what a mistake. I am very disappointed because it does not work for me.

    Everything I ever bought from an infomercial has never worked the way it did on tv.So, I'm not buying any more

    I purchase a Ped Egg and I love it ! I use it every week and it keeps my feet very soft. I loved it so much that I purchased several as stocking stuffers for Christmas!

    I've noticed more and more of these TV products (like shamwow) are being sold in drug stores etc. I'd always prefer to buy it in a store for ease or returns/exchanges. SheerCover has been a great product that I've bought off watching their informercials.

    I am very surprised that I have never bought anything from as seen on TV because I am usually so intrigued! I guess I just usually talk myself out of it thinking that the product may not be as "awesome" as they describe it to be

    I received a tv gift (smooth away) and i'm very impressed. I'm thinking of ordering something like sheercover now.
