Facebook and MySpace are the two most popular social networking websites in the U.S., but everyone tends to have a favorite that they visit more often.
Which do you prefer, and why? Has your preference changed over the past year? If so, why did you switch from one social networking site to another?
MySpace (15.3%)
Facebook (84.7%)
I prefer Facebook for a couple reasons. First, all my friends are on Facebook. But I also feel like MySpace is for younger people - both in how it's organized and by who has profiles on it.
Facebook is easier to operate and overall just better looking. You don;t have to create a background for your page and add music - it is just overall easier to operate.
Facebook is more popular with people I am in contact with.
The people I communicate with are mainly on Facebook. MySpace seems more appropriate and catering to younger people.
Facebook definitely. As a junior in college, it is the best means of communication via the social media outlet. Myspace seems like it is geared toward much younger teenagers and people who are only interested in music. I had a myspace for a few months my junior year of high school and got rid of it because of the lack of privacy. Facebook seems like a much safer and organized social networking site.
I prefer Facebook for the mature feel that it has to it. I do like that with Myspace you can customize your layout and those sorts of things, but that gets boring after awhile. So basically, I agree with everyone else here. Facebook is more mature and adult-oriented.
I only have Facebook account as most of my friends have Facebook. I find it easy to set up and there're plenty of functions that facilitate different needs. Other than sharing videos, photos and comments, I also get addicted to different beta games there.
I'm young, so I have both Myspace and Facebook but it just seems like Facebook is more convenient and quicker. You don't need to load someone's taxing, heavily loaded web page to see what they are up to. The people you have on Facebook are generally really your friends as opposed to Myspace. Very simple but it has it's flaws as well. Facebook is generally boring as well.
i have never tried myspace, but all of my friends are on facebook, that is the only reason i am is to keep in touch
I used to use myspace all the time. I do still have my account there, however lately I have had nothing but issues with them. They are constantly removing pictures that they state violate their TOS however I have never posted anything that could come close to doing that. Facebook is more secure than myspace as well. I have many more friends there and spend a great deal more time interacting with people on Facebook.
