Last year, I really dropped the ball on Valentine's Day. My husband bought me something very sweet (not expensive) but, thoughtful. I felt so guilty! So, this year, I will be buying something special and thoughtful for him to show that I care. It won't be extravagant but, it will be something!
We usually spend between $300-$400. Everything is so expensive it will more than likely be even more.
We will just get a babysitter and go to a nice dinner as always. Our anniversary is in April so I would rather get a great gift for that instead of Valentines. I am just not a jewelry person and I don't like stuff animals.
Fondue for us after the kids are in bed!
I am in love! The greatest gift of all.
My husband has to work on Valentines Day; 4pm-12:30am. So we plan on Valentines Day being on Sunday for us! We are kind of waiting to see what this crazy weather will have in store for us before we make definite plans, but just to be together and enjoy each other. I'm not one that NEEDS lot's of money spent on me; definitely not a "Material Girl"!...lol Just some good quality time together and a sweet card is more than enough for me!
As always my adult children have gifted us a stay at a hotel in Atlantic City in one of the Casino's
I think we are going with my sister to see Jeff Dunham at Consico Fieldhouse here in Indianapolis! He's great! Look him up on UTube if you don't know who he is! You'll laugh your butt off at him and his "dummies!!!"
With the economy the way it is, and kids birthdays that fall right around that time, I think we'll just have a nice date night out. Great restaurant, maybe some flowers, and just a great night being together. I've never thought Valentine's day should be such a big deal, just a day that puts too much pressure on a man, who really, should be doing these things spontaneously year round. I'd rather it be a surprise, than an expectation... too much hype! Guess I'm just not one of those girls who get excited about V-day, lol.. married 8 years, 2 beautiful kids, that's my reward.
Kids will get their stuff and we will stay in and have a nice night at home.Much cheaper and safer than going out!
