The Leapster is an inexpensive way to help kids learn. They think they're playing a game when they are getting an education.
Two of my kids have used this now and they love it. I love that many of the games are educational so I don't mind them using it! : ) Its also very sturdy and holds up well to preschool-aged children.
I also wanted to add that they come out with good coupons and if you pair that with a sale, the price of the leapster and the games aren't too bad. I got our leapsters on special at Kmart, plus Kmart had a $5 off $20 toy purchase coupon = $16 for the leapster. Before the hollidays the games would go on sale for $10-$15 and I found $5 coupons online.
my 5 year old loves her leapster and there is a huge variety of games to choose from - so i think she will be able to use it for a couple of years. we got the blue/green one so that she can hand it down to her little brother when he gets older.
My 3 year old wakes up at 6am every day, and in order for me to get more sleep and for him not to wake his baby sister- I have him play with his Leapster. He loves it! The only downside is the games. Besides being pricey, there isn't that much of a selection.
