Spanish Rice with Hamburger

Makes: 4 servings

Description: I have had numerous Spanish Rice recipes come thru my kitchen but after playing and combining I found on that even my kids will eat!!! Another wonderful thing about this dish is it can be made while you are doing other things and is quick and easy. You can season to taste but we prefer the non spicy version, you can add taco seasoning (normally 1/2 package) or red chili's if you prefer a bolder taste.

Ingredients:
1/4 cup  Vegetable Oil
1 med  Onion, diced and thinly sliced
1/2 sm  Green or Red Pepper, Diced
1 lb  Hamburger 90% lean
2 8oz cans  Tomato Sauce, or substitute 1 16oz can of stewed tomatoes that have been chopped up good
1 Cup  Regular rice uncooked (Can substitute Quick Rice if you prefer a stickier dish
1 3/4 cup  Hot Water
1 tsp.  Sea Salt
Dash  Fresh ground pepper
1 tsp  Mustard any type

Instructions: Heat oil in Skillet. Add Onion and Pepper cook down until caramelized. Add hamburger, stir over high heat until browned. Add Tomato sauce, rice, and remaining ingredients. Bring quickly to a boil. Cover tightly and simmer for aprox 25 mins or until rice is tender. Season to taste and allow to sit for a few minuets.
