Quality would rate first for me when looking for a color. I would only then look at price if having difficulty choosing between two or three like colors of similar brands/high quality paints.

It's worth it to spend a little more on a higher quality paint. It'll cover better, last longer and look better.

Color is my main consideration, but I would not buy paint that is of lower quality just to get the best price or color. I would always opt for a higher quality paint that will last longer and look better.

I used an environmentally friendly paint for the first time recently, helping a friend paint the interior of her salon & spa. No smell, low VOC's and the color was rich!

Having a wide selection of colors is important to me also but Quality of the paint is the most important factor.I will pay more for a high quality paint and feel I am saving money in the long run, because the paint is more durable and lasts alot longer.

Color is my first choice. The last room I painted the color came out VERY bright...so I had to paint it again with a different shade. Second I go with quality..not the cheapest..not the most expensive.

Last time I painted I used a higher quality of paint than Home Depot or Lowes and painting was much easier and took a lot less time. It also seems to be holding up much better. It cleans up better and seems to be fading less. I doubt I will ever buy cheep paint again.

I look for the color first and the quality second. I know that I have much better luck with the more expensive paints. I have had great luck with Valspar (i think).

The quality had to be good - we were painting our storage shed outdoors, which is rather large and made of wood. The color matters, but if it's going to chip off after 1 hard winter or 1 hot summer, what does it matter?
