I think its just another day to spend more money. If you love someone, why do you need a day for it you sould tell them everyday.

I think every day should be a time to acknowledge people nyou care about. Unfortunateoly, I see it as an excuse to boost commercial sales

I TOTALLY AGREE WITH CORKERSMOM. I THINK IF YOU TRULLY LOVE SOMEONE IT SHOULDNT TAKE YOU ONCE A YEAR TO BUY THAT PERSON FLOWERS,CHOCOLATE, TAKE THAT PERSON OUT TO DINNER OR DO SOMETHING ROMANTIC, THIS SHOULD BE DONE AS OFTEN AS ONE CAN AFFORD TO. ALSO THIS SHOULD BE DONE WHEN IT IS NOT EXPECTED SO IT A PLEASANT SURPRISE.VALENTINE DAY IS JUST A WAY TO BOOST SALES ON ITEMS THAT WOULDNT USUALLY SELL AT THIS TIME OF THE YEAR.

It was fun when I was little and in school....I think it is more for the kids OR brand new couples. I just send cards to my grandkids, they like getting a "HUG" in the mail.

I enjoy v-day since I'm married, but I have a lot of single friends and it makes me feel bad because I know it's a reminder to them that they're single. As many have mentioned, it puts a lot of undue pressure on people to be in couples. I'd prefer to get rid of V-day because it makes single people feel bad, and as many have mentioned, those in couples shouldn't need a designated day to celebrate - they can (and should) celebrate every day and any day.

I love any excuse to celebrate. My husband and I do silly things - like $5 gifts...it forces you to get creative.

Whether or not I hate Valentine's Day changes on a yearly basis, since, for me, its always dependent upon whether or not I have someone to buy me a Valentine's Day present and whether or not he's being a total complete jerk at the time. If your boyfriend is being a total you know what, Valentine's Day easily becomes a hated day. But, if you're the one that gets those long-stemmed roses, it's a day you definitely love. Not sure what's in store yet for this year. But I hope I get a present!!

We have three little ones this year (our twins were born in September, and we also have a three year old), so i'm looking forward to Valentine's day a little more than usual. For us, it's an excuse to take time out and celebrate our love. We make a nice dinner, and just focus on each other for a few hours.

I think there should be reasons every month to celebrate and look forward to something. If it does not turn out that great, its ok. But it shouldnt be that except an anniversary there is nothing else to look forward to. Its a good excuse to be romantic!
