How much of your holiday shopping did you do/plan to do online this year?

Every year, it's the same thing.  Long lines and lots of in-and-out of stores.  More and more people are choosing to do their holiday shopping online.  Although, many people say that shopping in a store is the best way to go so that you can see and feel the items before buying them.

Did you shop online for gifts this year or did you go to stores?  It seems that we all have different preferences.  What do you prefer and why?

All of it (9.6%)

Most of it (32.7%)

Some of it (45.8%)

None of it (11.6%)

You can get some great deals online, but it's hard to see if an article of clothing will fit without seeing it first and possibly trying it on.

Online shopping is much easier than fighting the crowds and traffic. I love being able to take my time to browse and compare prices.

I prefer to support local businesses which in turn support my local infastructure and economy. Shopping online is so impersonal- and so far removed from my community.

Some things I like to touch and look at. Some things I am comfortable purchasing online.

For the last minute people who don't know what they want until the very end, online shopping is great- click and it's here, with no lines!

I was able to find a particluar designer jeans for my daughter that was unavailable in the stores by the time she decided which pair of jeans she wanted.

Also, there seemed to be many more "free shipping" incentives this year.

I wish I could do all my shopping on line. It is easier to compare prices from store to store. I like free shipping too. And with the price of gas, you can't beat it. One problem I did encounter though, was when I ordered a gift from Kohls.com and about 10 days later I received an e-mail saying the product was out of stock.

I do a lot of my shopping online simply because I'm originally from Chicago & am now living in a small town in central KY, so my access to what I want is more limited. However, I'm a bargain-nut, so I shop all year & hit the 70% off sales at Amazon.com and stock up (my daughter's birthday is 1 month after Christmas!) This year it was also especially hard for me to get out & shop because I'm in the middle of a high-risk pregnancy & have been feeling pretty lousy.

Shopping online is so easy. I travel for the holiday so it is nice to send gift ahead of time and not worry about packing them. In additionost retailers offer free shipping and special online only deals. I love it!
