I am a big fan of "Nature's Promise" which is an organic store brand at the Stop & Shop grocery store in the northeast. It's obviously a little pricier than regular store brands, but it's cheaper than name-brand organics, so I feel like I'm getting quality as well as a decent price. In years past, I never relied on a store brand being as high-quality and reliable as Nature's Promise.

The quality of store brand products have greatly improved in order to stay competitive within the marketplace. There are still a few things that I won't give up from the brand names, but for the most part I am willing to try the store brands at least once. If I like them, I will get them again.

Store brands have come a long way. Most of them are so much better than they used to be.

The majority of store brands are just as good as name brand products.

Store brands have improved, in fact I have done blind taste tests in stores and the store brands tasted the best.

Store brands now offer the same products without all of the extra money.. I used to buy Scott's tissue, now I buy an off brand from Sam's Club...its the same quality but now I get more for my money.

I think its also become more acceptable to buy the store brands! I remember when I was a kid and it used to be one of the things other kids would tease you about... your "generic cupboard!" and thought that only "poor" people used generics! Now I think using store brands is looked at as the sign of a person who is more economical or budget-conscious and that isn't necessarily a mark of social STATUS any longer as much as it is a statement of personal convictions and social RESPONSIBILITY, know what I mean?

I love the Eating Right brand, which is a healthier version of Vons/Pavilions/Safeway's store brand. O Organics is pretty good, too. Wish Ralph's had the same. Trader Joe's brand has always been stellar - no improvement needed there. I'm much more inclined to buy store brands now - not just because of the savings (although that's obviously a big plus), but because of the quality and variety.
