What type of online coupons/promo codes are most compelling when shopping for back-to-school online?

There are many types of online coupon codes, and shopping websites usually allow only one coupon code per purchase.  Do you always choose a certain type of online coupon code, such as free shipping or a %-off discount, or does it vary?  

We especially want to hear your thoughts about online coupon codes when doing back-to-school shopping online.  Let us know what you think!

    I find it frustrating that you can only use one online coupon code at a time. I understand why they do it, but it would be nice to be able to get free shipping AND a discount, especially when making a really high-value purchase.

    I agree with other members comments that using online coupon codes is good, but it would be good to get free shipping and a discount too.

    Only being able to use one coupon is very fustrasting; especially when you are making a huge purchase. I think if over a certain amount that an extra code could be provided.

    I believe that finding on-line coupons should not be as difficult as they make it. Sometime the difficulty causes me to shop in person.

    I personally like to shop at a store, because more times than none, they mark down items, plus with a coupon = that equals more savings to me! Even though shopping online would probably be more economical (i.e., gas PLUS being able to spend more time at home), I truly love shopping at stores, though I make time to consolidate all of my shopping in one trip.

    The best deal I have found is at Office Max, they offer a ton of school supplies for a penny each, notebooks, pens, plain paper, crayons etc. A lot of times if you enter in the free shipping code and then continue shopping, you can enter in a discount code before completing checkout, thus giving you free shipping AND a discount.

    I like to go into the stores and personally see the selection they have plus it makes it easier to return items.

    I would rather to shop in person, beecause when I do I get more value for my money; many times I will find more clearance in store than online and that makes me a happy spender.

    I love purchasing online when I have already tried the product and know I like it. If I am interested but unfamiliar with the product I love free trials or deeply discounted (50% off or better) coupons to motivate me to try something new.
