We adopted our second child from foster care. He was 13 at the time with no connections to his BIO family whatsoever. We met him through my husbands job at the time as a police detective. He is now 29, a college graduate about to begin his Masters program (the only child of ours to earn a college degree) and working as a 911 dispatcher. He fit perfectly into our family and even to this day we get comments of how much he and my husband look alike :) He is the kindest, most soft spoken man and you would have never guessed he had such a rough start. Many of these teenagers in the system just need a family to call their own and believe in them.
