I can't tell you how well this will clean your paint brushes, but I can tell you it saved my comforter! After an exhausting search online for the west way to get varnish out of clonthing.. I stumbled upon this tip. IT WORKS SO WELL TOO! No more need to throw away those paint stained clothes anymore! My daughter had a bloody nose mishap that messed up her comforter as we were leaving for work and school. I only had time to treat the blood and thow the comforter over the foot of her sleigh bed. Little did I know that I hadn't "cleared" the foot of the bed and the wet treated part sat on her wooden footboard all day. That night it had dried and stuck to the bed. When I pulled back the comforter, it was stuck and when it came loose, the finshe was on her comforter! I treated and washed it - all the blood came out but not the finish from the bed. I can't help but thing that since I didn't put the comforter in the dryer, it kept the stain from becoming completely set. I treated it with the Winsor & Newton Brush Cleaner and Restorer and within minutes, I could see that it was working. I let it set for 40 minutes originally, but a little color was left, so I let it set for 2 hrs and voila.... no more stain! I was in total disbelief! The original stain had a hard feel and was dark brown on a light beige comforter... I never never never dreamed it would totally remove the stain without harming the color in the fabric, but it did!!!
