Victoria really came alive for me in this book; how accurate the portrayal is only she could say, but I felt that the insight of Daisy Goodwin was truly remarkable and fascinating. She has developed Victoria as a truly complex character with many sides- pride, wit, lonely, romantic, etc.- making her into someone we could easily imagine knowing well. In this book, we get to know Victoria very well- I often felt like I was her confidante, navigating the political and social minefield of the British elite with her. Her joys, her worries, and her sadnesses were also mine by the end of the novel. The book inspired in me an interest in British history, and I definitely googled for more information as I read (although you certainly do not need to do so). The book began somewhat slowly, and at first, I found it difficult to keep all the characters straight as they use so many titles plus names. However, about 30-40 pages into it, I was completely sucked into the story and absolutely hanging on each and every word. My favorite parts of the book were the stamp scene and the end chapter; I will let the readers judge for themselves which parts they love the most, but they showed different sides to Victoria and really gave me a strong emotional reaction (in the best way). By the end, I was definitely left wanting more (to be clear, it is not a cliffhanger or anything), and I would really love to see Victoria's story continued with Daisy Goodwin's clever hand. I really fell in love with this book, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves books about royalty, (clean) romance, and/or personal growth- this is history written for non-history-buffs (though I bet the history buffs will enjoy it too). Please note that I received this book from St. Martin's Press and She Speaks. All opinions are entirely my own.

Loved it!! I loved this book. I love history books even if it isn't all true. I love the read and imagine what the author is describing. I have watched a few of the episodes and I enjoyed those as well but the book is always better. I recommend this to others who love history and romance. I received this book from SheSpeaks in return for my honest review. And I honestly did enjoy this book!

I received a free copy of the book from SheSpeaks for my honest review. This book was delightful and informative. Even though it was fictional history, not all of it was untrue. To learn about Queen Victoria and thought process was inspirational to just in my own life be more determined to learn and be the best I can. To overcome obstacles. The relationship between Victoria and Lord Melbourne was actually humorous, but so typical of a young woman draw in by a man of persuasion and strength. I would have liked to hear more about Albert and their relationship developed. The description of the queen and her mother was so true to nature of "normal parent to child relationships". I would recommend this book to other

Young Queen Victoria I enjoyed Daisy Goodwin's fictional historical tale of Young Queen Victoria. I finished the book within a few days of receiving it. I thought it was well written and engaging. I look forward to watching her show Victoria when it airs on PBS. I received a copy of this book compliments of She Speaks.
